Not exactly a tutorial or a how to, just a way I did it [at least this time] and some ideas and suggestions, maybe you find anything useful. ^^
I did a little colorin [I do it differently almost every time - once all on one layer and paintsy, other time all layered and cleanish, sometimes I remove lineart, sometimes I make a clear vector lineart so yeah... :'D
In the extra part, there's some ideas how to make your drawn character/person/whatever more interesting. My theory is [more like in everyday life] this - if someone says Oh, that's pretty then it's just pretty. But if he/she asks Why is this like that and that like this? o.ō then it's interesting, because they are interested in why are things like that. :]
Here on dA we all have pretty much seen everything and coming up with something totally unique is pretty impossible, so you can just attempt to work with what you've got and make things at least eye-catching~ ^^
Sometimes I'm saddened about the boring-ness that can be seen in some artworks [even from the most skilled and talented artists on dA], even minor details can bring out some interest. ^^ I hope you all, artists and hobbyists, will try to not-stick to one thing, just because it looks good and you're comfortable with. Break boundaries, do unexpected things!
Otherwise.. people just get bored. :/
I'm not saying that I'm the awesomesauce here, for Pete's sake, no, haha.
I, myself, struggle not to become rusty and already-seen, I have lot to learn and study andand work out!
